Nairobi.- At least 30 people have died and 22 have been injured, six of them seriously, following a landslide that occurred overnight from Saturday to Sunday at the largest open-air landfill in the capital of Guinea-Conakry, the Guinean government reported.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the accident occurred at the Dar es Salaam landfill, in the Gbessia neighborhood, following heavy rains overnight.
The garbage landslide caused the collapse of several homes located next to the landfill, where authorities are searching for more people buried in coordination with the Red Cross and the Army.

Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah has traveled to the scene to oversee the situation and the mobilization of all necessary resources.
In addition, he has expressed his condolences to the affected families, and has asked for calm, solidarity, and respect for the instructions given to the population in the area.
