Nairobi.- Rescue teams found no survivors in the military helicopter missing for ten days with four crew members on board near the city of Niefang, in the Continental Region of Equatorial Guinea, the country’s vice president, Teodoro Nguema Obiang, reported this Friday.
“Unfortunately, there are no survivors and the corresponding services continue to work on the recovery of the bodies and the black box to study the reasons for this national tragedy,” Obiang reported on his X account.

The Z-9 helicopter of the Equatorial Guinean armed forces was located in a mountain range situated in the vicinity of the towns of Mongom and Miduma between the cities of Niefang and Evinayong, within the Centro Sur Province.
“I express my sincere condolences to the families of the four crew members who were traveling on board the aircraft (…). We thank the friendly countries that have accompanied us during the search and location process of the aircraft for their support,” indicated the Equatoguinean Vice President, son of the dictator, Teodoro Obiang.
The United States participated in the location of the aircraft, having announced the deployment of three military specialists in search and rescue operations.
More than 2,000 personnel participated in the search operation, facing an area with very complicated terrain due to the density of the Ecuadorian tropical forest and poor weather conditions, which hindered the task.
