Caracas, Venezuela.- The advance team of the Emergency Medical Team (EMT Type 1) of the Ministry of Public Health and the Emergency Operations Center (COE) received authorization to install the Type 1 Emergency Mobile Hospital at the Juan Guillermo Guzmán Stadium, located in Catia La Mar, La Guaira state.
The site was designated by Venezuelan authorities as one of the main points for providing care to the population affected by the earthquake. Around 2,000 people remain sheltered in the stadium, who will receive medical attention once the hospital installation is completed.

More than 40 Dominican health professionals will join this effort to put the field hospital into operation. The mission is composed of doctors, nurses, psychologists, specialists in water and sanitation, pharmacy, laboratory, logistics, and emergency management, all trained under the international standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) to respond to disasters and humanitarian emergencies.
The Type 1 Mobile Emergency Hospital is equipped with high-tech equipment and has the capacity to offer medical consultations, emergency care, patient stabilization, minor procedures, laboratory services, pharmacy, and other essential services to strengthen the health response in one of the areas most impacted by the emergency.

As part of the ongoing monitoring of the mission, the Minister of Public Health of the Dominican Republic, Víctor Atallah, held a telephone conversation with the Minister of People’s Power for Health of Venezuela, Carlos Alvarado, who expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the Dominican government and confirmed that the team is already deployed on the ground.
“We have your people here, they are working, supporting us. Thank you for all the support. We have received vaccines and the tetanus toxoid that we needed. Thank you very much, Minister. We are already locating the field hospitals,” expressed the Venezuelan minister.
When referring to the progress of the mission, Minister Víctor Atallah highlighted that this action reflects the Dominican Republic’s commitment of solidarity with the Venezuelan people.
“Within the framework of the Quisqueya Solidaria Operation, the government of President @luisabinader, together with the entire Dominican people, reaffirms its solidarity with Venezuela, bringing medical assistance, hope, and support to those who are currently facing the consequences of this tragedy.”
The humanitarian mission is part of the international response promoted by the Dominican Government to assist the population affected by the earthquake, through the deployment of highly specialized personnel and a mobile hospital with the capacity to provide medical care in disaster scenarios.
With the installation of the Mobile Emergency Hospital in Catia La Mar, the Dominican Republic formally begins the provision of healthcare assistance in one of the communities with the highest concentration of people displaced by the emergency, reaffirming its commitment to international cooperation, solidarity, and the protection of life.
