Double amputee former Marine rescues American flag from interstate
A former U.S. Marine who has prosthetic legs rescued an American flag from the side of an interstate, refusing to leave it on the ground as traffic sped past.
Without waiting for someone else to act, the veteran walked toward the grass, picked up the flag and handled it with the respect he believed it deserved.
The moment has drawn attention as an example of patriotism and respect for the U.S. flag.
