U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said he believes “the end times are approaching” and that he would not be surprised if the Antichrist were already walking among people. He also estimated that he has a 75% to 80% chance of going to heaven.
“There are things happening in the world that I would not be surprised at all if the Antichrist were already walking among us,” Vance said during an interview with Christian podcaster Bryce Crawford earlier this week.
Asked how certain he was that he would go to heaven, Vance rated his confidence at “a seven or an eight out of 10,” equivalent to roughly 75% to 80%. The vice president said he still occasionally has doubts about the existence of heaven.
“Darkness” among world leaders
Vance also said he senses a “certain darkness” in comments made by some world leaders and described some activities by artificial intelligence companies as having “a really strange dark spiritual energy.”
In that context, he said some companies carry out a kind of “burial” when they retire an older AI model.
Asked whether a higher power intervened to thwart the assassination attempt against Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, in 2024, Vance said he believes certain coincidences do not happen “without the hand of providence.”
