Venezuelan dictator, Nicolás Maduro, has proclaimed himself this Thursday as the winner of his invented award Architect of Peace, in allusion to the Nobel Peace Prize that the opposition leader María Corina Machado won last October. The ceremony took place in Caracas, within the framework of the commemorative activities for the 195th anniversary of the death of Simón Bolívar, a figure that Chavismo claims as an ideological pillar.
According to the Bolivarian Society, an organization dedicated to promoting the Bolivarian historical legacy in Venezuela, Maduro has been distinguished as Architect of Peace for his supposed work in the “construction and preservation of peace in Venezuela, Latin America and the world“.

In the act, Maduro has thanked the recognition and calls it a “
great commitment“, reiterating his speech that Venezuela is a zone of peace free of foreign interventions, while criticizing powers that, according to him, exert pressure and interference in the region. “Peace will be my port, peace will be my glory, peace will be all I desire and
peace will always be our victory“, the narcodictator has pointed out.
Maduro challenges Trump
Maduro has also challenged the President of the United States,
Donald Trump, assuring that any attempt to change the government in Venezuela would be a failure. “
A puppet government would not last 47 hours“, said the Venezuelan dictator this Thursday during an event broadcast by the state channel VTV.
Maduro has accused Washington of intending to turn Venezuela into a “
colony” by imposing a government that, according to his words, would surrender sovereignty and national wealth.
These statements come a day after Trump ordered the blocking of Venezuelan oil tankers and demanded the return of the crude oil that, according to the White House, legitimately belongs to the Venezuelan people. A measure that adds to the recent designation of Maduro’s Government as a “
terrorist organization” by the United States.
The Chavista regime has denounced what it calls the “
immensity of the aggressions” and the “warmongering and colonialist pretension” of Washington, raising the tone of the bilateral confrontation to unprecedented levels.
