The Venezuelan people are gathering this Saturday around Miraflores to express their support for President Nicolás Maduro, captured along with his wife, Cilia Flores, by the United States, as can be seen from the videos spread on social media.
“Maduro, hold on, the people are rising up,” is one of the shouts heard in the videos.

In turn, the Minister for Social Work, Eduardo Piñate, stated that the mobilization of the Venezuelan people in the streets to demand proof of life of the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro represents the reaction of a dignified and combative citizenry, fully aware of the place it occupies in history.
Likewise, he reiterated that the people of Venezuela do not submit to anyone and that their strength and determination remain solid in the defense of the homeland and national sovereignty.
U.S. President Donald Trump made statements after having ordered a military attack against Venezuela, based on an alleged anti-cartel operation that Caracas insistently denounced as an “aggression” aimed at propitiating a “regime change”, whose ultimate goal is to seize the vast riches of the Bolivarian nation, especially oil and gas.
“The United States has successfully carried out a large-scale attack against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolás Maduro, who, along with his wife, has been captured and taken out of the country,” the U.S. president wrote on Truth Social, wrote on Truth Social.
The aerial attack and the capture of Maduro occurred amid an escalation of actions that began last August, with the unusual deployment of a military operation in the Caribbean, off the coast of the South American country, which led to bombings against small boats accused without evidence of drug trafficking, threats of incursion against Caracas and the seizure of oil tankers, in acts qualified by the Venezuelan Government as “theft” and “piracy”.
In recent weeks, the White House’s discourse has changed. What was initially presented as a strategy against drug trafficking has shifted towards the explicit desire to seize Venezuelan oil, which, in Donald Trump’s opinion, has been “stolen” by Venezuela.
