Ambassador and former PARLACEN deputy calls the capture of Nicolás Maduro “historic”

The political leader of the Dominicanos por el Cambio (DxC) Party and former deputy to the Central American Parliament (PARLACEN), Claudio Marte González, described this Saturday as a “major world-impact event” the announcement about the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, considering that it would mark a before and after for millions of Venezuelans inside and outside their country.

Marte González, who has also represented the country in regional political and diplomatic scenarios, stated that this event would signify the beginning of a process of family reunification and democratic reconstruction for Venezuela.

“We hope that in this 2026 there will be no empty tables or chairs in Venezuelan homes, but rather complete families, reunited in peace, democracy and, above all, in freedom,” he expressed. The ambassador to Bolivia and former PARLACEN legislator stated that the impact of the announcement has been immediately reflected on social media, where —according to what he indicated— the international community is seen reacting and celebrating what it considers a first step towards the freedom of the Venezuelan people. He indicated that this event, if officially confirmed, would not only have repercussions in Latin America, but would transcend the international community, as it is a conflict that has caused one of the largest migratory crises on the continent. So far, there is no official confirmation from Venezuelan authorities or international organizations regarding the alleged capture of Nicolás Maduro; meanwhile, the issue continues to generate expectations, debates, and reactions in different countries. Marte González concluded by pointing out that the international community must accompany any process that leads to a democratic, peaceful, and free outcome for Venezuela.
