A 17-year-old girl from Utah who disappeared more than 500 days ago has been found safe in Oregon, bringing an end to a nationwide search that began in May 2025.

Kylie Arellano was 15 when she was last seen by her family on May 29, 2025, at their home in Garden City, Utah. Her disappearance prompted an extensive investigation involving state and federal authorities, who followed numerous reported sightings across the United States and abroad.

According to a law enforcement statement, Oregon officers located the teenager on Sunday while working with the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office and the Rich County Sheriff’s Office. She was found with a 39-year-old man, who was taken into custody without incident.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the recovery and praised the cooperation between law enforcement agencies. He said authorities would continue working with their partners to hold those responsible accountable.

A law enforcement source told Fox News that the man allegedly met Arellano through Snapchat before her disappearance. Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding her recovery, citing the ongoing investigation.

The operation also involved the Oregon State Police, the FBI’s Portland field office and the Utah Department of Public Safety.

In the days before the teenager was found, unsealed search warrants reviewed by KUTV revealed that investigators had previously questioned her mother, Stephanie Coleman, about an earlier allegation of physical abuse and discrepancies involving text messages from the night Kylie disappeared.

Coleman denied abusing her daughter or having any involvement in her disappearance. She maintained that Kylie may have been groomed and lured away by someone she met online.

The FBI and local authorities have not released additional information about the investigation.
