Russian skydiver Sergey Boytsov reportedly set a world record after jumping from a hot-air balloon at an altitude of 11,551 meters over Russia’s Altai region.
During the jump, he reached an estimated free-fall speed of 500 km/h, while temperatures at that altitude were around -59°C. His parachute opened at approximately 1,565 meters, and he landed safely after a total flight time of 7 minutes and 19 seconds.
The previous record in this category was reportedly 10,060 meters, set by Polish athletes. The balloon’s ascent also established a new altitude record for a hot-air balloon, surpassing the 10,678-meter mark recorded in 2025.
