Firefighters in Catalonia responded to 129 emergency calls between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. Monday as severe storms hit several parts of the region, particularly the southwest.
According to the report, 107 of the incidents were recorded in Tarragona province. Most involved fallen trees and branches, minor flooding and damaged or sparking cables.
The storms were accompanied by strong wind gusts and hail, with some areas receiving more than 20 liters of rain per square meter in just 30 minutes.
In the city of Tarragona, the heavy downpour flooded several avenues, causing disruptions in the area.
