Jerusalem.- The total number of deaths recorded in the devastated Gaza Strip surpassed 59,000 this Monday after the latest Israeli bombings, the Ministry of Health of the enclave, controlled by Hamas, reported in a statement.

Yesterday alone, more than a hundred people were killed in various Israeli bombings that also injured more than a thousand people, according to Palestinian health authorities.

Thus, the total number of people injured since Israel began its invasion against the enclave, more than 21 months ago, amounts to 141,135, many of whom have suffered injuries that will last a lifetime and require long-term care and rehabilitation, something that the collapsed Gazan health system cannot handle.

The other major tragedy in the Strip is the thousands of dead who remain among the rubble that cannot be rescued by civil defense teams due to the lack of heavy machinery, in addition to the fact that 87.8% has become a militarized area of the Army, according to data from this Monday from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in a statement.

Furthermore, so far this Monday, around thirty people have died in more Israeli attacks against tent camps, residential buildings and groups of civilians waiting for the arrival of trucks in the north, health sources confirmed to EFE.
