Train crashes into crane, sending it tumbling onto busy avenue in São Paulo

A dramatic incident occurred on October 24 in eastern São Paulo, Brazil, when a crane fell onto the structure of a monorail system before being struck by a passing train and crashing onto an avenue filled with vehicles.

The crane fell onto the monorail structure, and shortly afterward, a train traveling through the area collided with the equipment. The impact sent the crane plunging onto the roadway, where it came close to hitting passing vehicles.

The crane operator was injured and received medical attention at the scene. No passengers on the train were reported injured.

The incident was captured on video, showing the crane falling toward the busy avenue and narrowly missing vehicles as the equipment came down.
