A dramatic video captured the moment a crane lost control, slammed into a concrete barrier and caught fire on Mexico’s Arco Norte highway, near the uphill curve toward Ajoloapan.
Minutes earlier, another crash had been reported in the area. After encountering vehicles stopped on the roadway, the crane operator tried to maneuver around them but lost control, triggering a second collision involving multiple vehicles.
The footage shows a man near the scene jumping over the concrete barrier moments before the crash to get out of the way.
The accident involved nine vehicles and left five people injured, according to reports available so far. No fatalities have been reported.
The entire incident unfolded within seconds, as a situation already complicated by the first crash turned into a second emergency on the highway.
