U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he is “working hard” with House Speaker Mike Johnson to end the partial shutdown, in which the U.S. government entered last Saturday after Congress failed to pass an agreement to maintain funding for broad areas of the Administration. “We need the Government to open its doors, and I hope that all Republicans and Democrats will join me in supporting this bill and sending it to my desk without delay,” posted this Monday on Truth Social. “We will work together in good faith to address the issues raised, but we cannot allow another prolonged, useless and destructive shutdown that damages our country so much, one that will benefit neither Republicans nor Democrats. I hope everyone votes ‘yes’,” he concluded.
