Trump’s image will appear on a limited edition of passports for the 250th anniversary of the U.S.

Washington.- The U.S. Department of State is preparing new passport designs to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence, with a limited edition that will include the image of President Donald Trump, Fox reported this Tuesday.

According to mockups obtained by the media, Trump’s face appears framed by the Declaration of Independence and the American flag on the inside cover of the passport, along with his signature in gold, while another page shows the Founding Fathers signing the declaration.

The launch is scheduled for this summer as part of the campaign to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the independence of the North American country.

Passports will be available at the Washington Passport Agency for any U.S. citizen applying for a new passport, subject to availability, according to the Fox News note. “The State Department is preparing to release a limited number of U.S. passports with a special design to commemorate this historic occasion,” State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott told Fox. The back cover of these passports will bear a United States flag with the number 20 centered among the 13 stars that appeared in the 1777 version, and although they incorporate new illustrations, the documents will maintain “the same security features”, according to the source.

In the same vein, the Treasury Department reported last March that the president’s signature will also be included on future dollar bills, the first time the mark of a sitting president has appeared on them. According to the Treasury, the measure seeks to recognize the president’s “economic achievements” and the bills with his signature will be put into circulation before July 4th. On March 19, a federal art committee approved a coin design featuring the president resting his fists on a desk, based on a photograph taken by his team in 2025 and displayed at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington. But the image of Trump not only extends to banknotes and passports, but now reaches many corners of Washington, where huge photographs of the president cover the facades of several buildings in the capital.
