Two dead due to the rains in Gaza, which flood dozens of displaced persons’ tents

Jerusalem.- A woman and a 7-year-old child died when a wall collapsed and fell into a well due to the heavy rains that lashed the Gaza Strip in the last few hours and that flooded dozens of tents of displaced people in the devastated Palestinian enclave.
According to the Gaza Civil Defense rescue team, the woman, about 30 years old, and the child drowned in the well after falling there due to the collapse of a wall caused by the storm.

In addition, Civil Defense teams assisted those affected by the floods with tent camps, shelters in which hundreds of thousands of Gazans live throughout the Strip after the destruction of their homes by Israel. They collaborated with them to pump out accumulated water, clean drains and waterways, and distributed tents to those affected in collaboration with charities, they explained in a statement. Civil Defense workers also rescued a vehicle from the Red Crescent that was trapped by the rain. Their teams remain on high alert as the rains continue in Gaza, where rainfall is expected this Sunday and this Monday. The Palestinian media outlet Quds, linked by some sources to Hamas, publishes this Sunday videos of the ravages of the rain in a displaced persons camp in Al Mawasi, located in the south of the Gaza Strip, next to the coast, and where tens of thousands of people live in tents. The videos show displaced people explaining how, since midnight, many had to abandon their tents for fear that the wind and rain would carry them away, as well as tents installed on the beach and flooded by seawater.#Most read
