U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem hospitalized after an allergic reaction

USA.- The U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, was transferred this Tuesday to a hospital in Washington after suffering an allergic reaction, reported the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

“Secretary Noem suffered an allergic reaction today. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution. She is alert and recovering,” said Tricia McLaughlin, DHS spokesperson. According to the data, a strong presence of the Secret Service was reported at the entrances to the emergency room of the medical center.

With 53 years old, Noem is the former governor of South Dakota and a former congresswoman. She was appointed to head the DHS by President Donald Trump after his re-election, and confirmed by the Senate in January, becoming a key figure in the cabinet, especially due to Trump’s central focus on immigration policies.
