Workers renovating building in Belgium discover $10 million in gold

A renovation project in Sint-Gillis-Dendermonde, Belgium, turned into an extraordinary discovery when workers uncovered gold bars and coins valued at approximately $10.4 million while installing a drainage pipe.
The workers initially believed they had found ordinary coins, but their discovery changed when they uncovered a gold piece and then began finding more coins and bars buried beneath the building.
The gold was valued at around 9 million euros, according to the information provided. The workers handed the entire find over to authorities, who placed it in custody while its ownership is determined.
If no one can prove ownership and the gold is not linked to criminal activity, Belgian authorities could determine how the treasure is distributed. The final ownership of the gold has not yet been resolved.
