SANTO DOMINGO.– A total of 32 Dominican players are currently participating in the postseason of the winter leagues of Venezuela, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, in the decisive stage leading to the Caribbean Series 2026, scheduled to be held in Jalisco, Mexico.

With the beginning of the month of January, 17 teams secured their qualification to the final rounds of these circuits, highlighting a wide presence of Dominican players, especially in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), which concentrates the largest amount with 22 players, followed by the Mexican Pacific League, with six, and the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League of Puerto Rico, with four. In Venezuela, Dominicans are distributed among Navegantes del Magallanes, Cardenales de Lara, Águilas del Zulia, Caribes de Anzoátegui and Bravos de Margarita, contributing both in pitching and in key positions on the field. The Navegantes del Magallanes have pitchers Félix Cepeda, Waddison Charles, Oliver Ortega, Jesús Reyes and Esmil Rogers.For the Cardenales de Lara, pitchers Héctor Pérez, Listher Sosa, César Valdez and Juan Zapata participate, in addition to infielder Alejandro Mejía.
The Águilas del Zulia present pitchers Delvis Alegre, Ronaldo Alesandro and Wendolyn Bautista, along with catcher Isaías Tejeda.
With Caribes de Anzoátegui are pitchers Harold González, Francis Peguero, Luis Reyes and Yoelvin Silver, while the Bravos de Margarita have Claudio Custodio and Ángel Rondón, in addition to infielder Juan Santana. In the Mexican Pacific League, Dominicans also have a prominent role with catcher Raudy Read and outfielder Estevan Florial in the Águilas de Mexicali, as well as pitchers Jonathan Aro and Raffy Vizcaíno, and infielders Domingo Leyba and Andretty Cordero with the Naranjeros de Hermosillo. Meanwhile, in Puerto Rico, pitcher Oddy Núñez reinforces the Cangrejeros de Santurce; Johnny Vargas, Emanuel Valdez and Willy Vásquez are part of the roster of the Criollos de Caguas; and pitchers Eddy Reynoso and Eduardo Rivera play with the Gigantes de Carolina.
