SAN PEDRO DE MACORÍS, DR. – The Estrellas Orientales announced that they will begin their training on September 14 for the 2026-27 season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), scheduled to start on October 16.

The green team will open its work with a mini camp at the Detroit Tigers complex, located in the Ramón Santana municipality, where the presence of pitchers and catchers is mainly expected.
Subsequently, on September 21st, the Stars will begin training with the full roster at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium, in San Pedro de Macorís.
The work will be led by manager Héctor Borg, who will make his debut at the helm of the Estrellas during the upcoming campaign.
Borg will have a coaching staff composed of Carlos Valderrama, bench and base running coach; Carlos Paulino, assistant manager; Jairo Cuevas, pitching coach; Alex Concepción, assistant pitching coach; and Robelin Bautista, bullpen coach.
The offensive area will be under the responsibility of René Rojas, hitting coach; Rafael Peña, hitting strategy coach; Land Carrero, assistant hitting coach, batting practice coach, and Parallel League coach; and Javier Roa, assistant coach for catchers, batting practice, and the Parallel League.
Also part of the staff are Erick Salcedo, infield coach; Oscar Bernard, strategic coordination and game plan coach; Claudio Almonte, first base and outfield coach; and Ángel Rosario, third base coach and assistant game plan coach.
Two imports repeat
So far, the Estrellas Orientales have announced two imported players for the upcoming season, both with previous experience with the club.
It is about the gardener Ismael Munguía, who led the league in batting average last season with .368, and the reliever Patrick Weigel, considered one of the main relievers of the team and the tournament during the last two campaigns.
With the start of training camp getting closer, the Estrellas are advancing in the preparation of their roster to face a new season of Dominican professional baseball.
