Giants unleash a demolishing offensive to defeat the Bulls 14-6 and climb the standings

SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS. – Backed by an explosive performance from Johan Rojas and Eddison Paulino, the Gigantes del Cibao decisively defeated the Toros del Este 14-6, stringing together their third consecutive victory this Sunday at the Julián Javier Stadium, within the 2025-26 season of the Dominican Baseball League, dedicated to Juan Marichal and for the Banreservas Cup.

The triumph allowed the Francomacorisanos to improve their record to 11-13, climbing to third place in the standings and placing themselves nine games behind the leaders Águilas Cibaeñas (20-4). The giant offensive was led by Rojas and Paulino, who combined for eight hits, six runs scored, and five RBIs in a night of absolute offensive dominance.
Rojas finished 5-4, with a double, three runs scored, and two RBIs, while Paulino also hit four hits in five at-bats, including a home run, three runs scored, and three RBIs. Carlos Peguero joined the offensive explosion, hitting his 49th home run in the LIDOM, one away from tying Ángel Peña and Winston “Chilote” Llenas (50) for seventh place in the historical home run standings. Other Giants standouts were Leurys García (5-2, two runs scored), Marco Hernández (5-3, run scored, double and two walks), Peguero (4-3, run scored and two RBIs) and Julio Carreras (4-1, run scored and driven in). For the Toros, who now have a record of 13-12, Félix Reyes hit a home run and drove in two runs (4-1), Rafael Lantigua contributed a home run and two RBIs (2-2), while Manuel Peña added an RBI (3-1). American Aaron Brooks (1-2) was the losing pitcher, while Aidan Anderson (1-0) took the victory by retiring the three batters he faced in an effective relief during the fifth inning. The Giants return to the field this Monday to receive the Águilas Cibaeñas at 7:00 p.m. in San Francisco de Macorís, while the Toros will visit the Tigres del Licey at 7:30 p.m. at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium. The standings are still headed by the Águilas Cibaeñas (20-4), followed by Toros del Este (13-12), Gigantes del Cibao (11-13), Estrellas Orientales (12-16), Leones del Escogido (11-15) and Tigres del Licey (9-16), who are going through a negative streak of five losses.
