According to another source, the player will undergo additional medical evaluations to determine the exact recovery time. For the moment, his availability for a possible second round will depend on his progress in the coming days. The loss represents a significant impact on the defensive structure of the Quisqueyan team, as Peña was projected as a key piece in the infield and an important part of the offense. His absence forces the coaching staff to readjust the lineup for the start of the tournament. The Dominican team is scheduled to debut this Friday in Miami, with high expectations of advancing in a competitive group. Peña’s injury adds to the challenges facing the tricolor team in their goal of conquering the world title. The management of the complex has not immediately announced whether it will call up a substitute to fill the vacancy on the roster.
