Stars visit the Eagles to complete game postponed due to rain

The Estrellas Orientales will visit the Águilas Cibaeñas this Monday to continue the game postponed due to rain last Wednesday at the Estadio Cibao, corresponding to the 2026-2027 autumn-winter baseball tournament.
The match is scheduled for 7:30 at night and finds the green team at the top of the standings, with a record of five wins and two losses, after winning their last three games consecutively.
The Estrellas will look to extend their good momentum after securing two consecutive wins against the Gigantes del Cibao, in which they scored 24 runs and recorded 24 hits. In those games, the home runs by Raimel Tapia stood out, including a grand slam, as well as the home runs by Panamanian Leo Bernal and Cuban César Prieto.
Esmil Rogers will return to the mound
Veteran pitcher Esmil Rogers will be on the mound again for the Estrellas. Rogers started last Wednesday’s game and completed one inning without allowing any runs before the rain forced the action to be stopped.
The game was suspended in the bottom of the second inning, with the score tied 0-0. Despite the efforts of the maintenance crew to prepare the field, the umpires determined that the necessary conditions to resume play did not exist.
In accordance with Article 10 of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) regulations, when a game is suspended before completing five innings—or four and a half innings if the home team is leading—it must be continued under the same conditions in which it was stopped, with the possibility for each team to add two players to the roster.
The Estrellas, who occupy first place with a 5-2 record, lead the Tigres del Licey, who have a 5-3 mark, by half a game.
