Philadelphia, PA – Baseball once again experienced a historic chapter. Kyle Schwarber, of the Philadelphia Phillies, joined a legendary club this August 28, 2025: that of the players who have hit four home runs in a single game in Major League Baseball. With his feat, Schwarber becomes the number 21 player to achieve it in more than 130 years of MLB history.

To gauge the difficulty of this feat, it suffices to point out that Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Albert Pujols, and Alex Rodríguez —five of the all-time home run hitters— never managed to hit four home runs in a single game.

In fact, this achievement has been so unusual that, for much of the 20th century, it barely happened once per decade. After the first recorded precedent in 1894 with Bobby Lowe, 36 years passed until Lou Gehrig repeated the feat in 1932.
