SANTO DOMINGO.- Andersson García was selected as the Player of the Week of the LNB Super League, for his outstanding performances between April 28 and May 3 with the Marineros de Puerto Plata.

García excelled in the third week by averaging a triple-double of 16.0 points, 16.0 rebounds and 12.5 assists, in addition to shooting for 44 percent from the field and achieving 71 efficiency in two games with the Puerto Plata team. The native of Moca, who played in the NBA this year, was favored with 24 out of 59 votes from the journalists covering the first division circuit, surpassing Luismal Ferreiras, of the Gigantes Basketball Club, who received 14 preferences. Ferreiras participated in three games, leaving an average of 17.6 units, 12.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 55 percent from the field and 68 efficiency. Romeao Ferguson (8 votes), from the Southern Titans; Marvin Smith Jr. (6), from the Eastern Cane Cutters; Eloy Vargas (3), from the Heroes of Moca; Francis King Fitzgerald (2) from the Giants, and Gerardo Suero (2), from the Lions of Santo Domingo, also received ratings. García joined Ferreiras and Jordan Hall (Metros de Santiago), among the players who have won the distinction of the most outstanding of the week in La Súper Liga de la LNB.
