SALT LAKE CITY. – The Utah Jazz announced the signing of Dominican forward Andersson García through a 10-day contract, giving him the opportunity to make the jump to the NBA.

The organization did not offer financial details of the agreement, following its internal policy on this type of temporary contracts.
García, 2.01 meters tall and 107 kilograms, has had a solid season in the NBA G League with the Mexico City Capitanes, a team with which he has played 35 games, 12 of them as a starter.
During that stage, he averaged 10.9 points per game with 55.6% field goal efficiency, as well as 9.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 25.3 minutes of action. He also recorded 12 double-doubles, including two games with more than 20 rebounds and three performances of 20 or more points.
Native of Moca, in the Dominican Republic, García developed his college career in US college basketball, first with the Mississippi State Bulldogs and later with the Texas A&M Aggies.
In his time with Texas A&M, he played 104 games, starting 16, and in the 2023-24 season he led the conference in rebounds with an average of 9.1 per game, which earned him a place on the Southeastern Conference (SEC) All-Defensive Team.
With this opportunity in Utah, the Dominican player will seek to demonstrate his ability in the league and earn a more permanent position within the team.
