SANTO DOMINGO, DR.- The San Carlos club obtained its second victory on Friday in the 40th Women’s Superior Basketball Tournament (TBSF District 2026), by defeating the La Ciénaga team, 78-62, in the match played at the Ensanche Luperón club sports center.
The women from San Carlos dominate the first place in the standings with their 2-0 record, and the girls from La Ciénaga register 1-1, in the tournament where the Seaboard “Clean Energy” Cup is being contested.
The contest is dedicated to Doña Milagros Ortiz Bosch, former Vice President of the Republic and currently the General Director of the General Directorate of Ethics and Government Integrity (DIGEIG), as well as advisor to the Executive Branch on Ethics, Transparency and Anti-Corruption.
Jennifer Jiménez and Melissa Cabral were the leading scorers with 21 and 20 points each, in addition to grabbing five and six rebounds, and dishing out six and five assists, respectively.

For the Cinco Esquinas squad, under the command of young coach Willy Soriano, Yadira Marte contributed to the winning cause with a double-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.
On the other side, Yeliandra Romero had 21 points, Vanessa Ozuna achieved a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds, Katherine Abreu 11, and Yamell Abreu eight, four rebounds, and six assists.
The TBSF District 2026 is organized by the National District Basketball Association (Abadina), presided over by Edwin Castillo (Tatico), in conjunction with congresswoman Melina Sánchez, who is the president of the Organizing Committee, and Carlos Gerónimo is the technical director.

The TBSF District 2026 resumes its action this Sunday with two clashes, starting at 11:00 in the morning, between the teams of Mauricio Báez and La Ciénaga, and at 1:30 in the afternoon, San Lázaro will play against San Carlos, at the Ensanche Luperón club sports center.
