SANTO DOMINGO, DR.- The Mauricio Báez club routed the San Carlos team on Tuesday, 71-58, to take away their undefeated record in their fourth outing in the 40th Women’s Superior Basketball Tournament (TBSF Distrito 2026), at the Ensanche Luperón club sports center.
Cesarina Capellán led the offensive attack with 20 points and the support of Gloribel Rodríguez, who had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists, Fátima Marte nine, Rudelfy De Jesús managed to score seven more with 11 rebounds, and Génesis Evangelista added seven.
For the Sancarleñas, Melissa Cabral scored 17 points with six rebounds, Jennifer Jiménez contributed 12 baskets, seven rebounds and dished out another six, and Yadira Marte nine and 10 rebounds.
Despite the setback, San Carlos leads the standings with a 3-1 record, followed by Mauricio Báez (2-1), San Lázaro (1-2), and La Ciénaga (1-3), competing for the Seaboard “Clean Energy” Cup.
For its part, the San Lázaro club got on the board by obtaining its first victory at the expense of La Ciénaga, 77-51, in the clash held at the Ensanche Luperón indoor court.
For the Lazareñas, Laura Díaz scored 16 points and debutant Vanessa Batista had a double-double of 13 points plus 12 rebounds and five assists, and Dallysshya Moreno added 12 points and eight rebounds.
For the girls from La Ciénaga, Yeliandra Romero and Yamell Abreu scored 12 each.
The contest is dedicated to Doña Milagros Ortiz Bosch, former Vice President of the Republic and currently the General Director of the General Directorate of Ethics and Government Integrity (DIGEIG), as well as advisor to the Executive Branch on Ethics, Transparency and Anti-Corruption.
The TBSF District 2026 is organized by the National District Basketball Association (Abadina), presided over by Edwin Castillo (Tatico), in conjunction with congresswoman Melina Sánchez, who is the president of the Organizing Committee, and Carlos Gerónimo is the technical director.

The TBSF District 2026 continues this Friday, at 6:00 in the afternoon, San Carlos against San Lázaro, and at 7:30 at night, Mauricio Báez against La Ciénaga, at the Luperón indoor court.
