New York. – The New York Knicks’ classification to the NBA Finals has caused an unprecedented demand in the ticket market, with tickets already considered the most expensive in the history of the league.
According to the specialized platform TickPick, the third game of the 2026 NBA Finals, the first that the Knicks will play as locals in Madison Square Garden, has record resale prices. On portals like StubHub, the most economical tickets are around $3,500, while courtside seats exceed $100,000.
Even tickets for a possible sixth game in New York, where the championship could be decided, start at about $4,600.
The historic anticipation in the city is due to the Knicks returning to an NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 and seeking to conquer their first title since 1973, a drought of more than five decades.
The New York team is still waiting for a rival, as the Western Conference final is still open with the Oklahoma City Thunder leading 3-2 over the San Antonio Spurs.

Meanwhile, prices at Western venues look considerably more affordable. On Ticketmaster, the cheapest tickets for the sixth game in San Antonio are selling from $185, while a possible seventh encounter in Oklahoma City slightly exceeds $400.
The Knicks reach the Finals after a dominant postseason in which they strung together 11 consecutive victories against Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Cleveland, also recording an impressive point differential of +262 points.
TickPick highlighted that with just over $3,000 a fan could attend all seven complete games of the 2025 NBA Finals, a figure that now doesn’t even reach to acquire a single ticket at Madison Square Garden during this 2026 edition.
