The Giants easily walk past the Heroes in the LNB elimination phase

SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS. The Gigantes basketball Club dominated the entire game at will to secure a 123-90 victory over the Héroes de Moca in a Super LNB League elimination round match held this Friday at the Mario Ortega Indoor Stadium in this city.

From the opening whistle, the Giants easily took control to dominate the entire course of the game, and to bring their record to 14-5, as well as 9-1 at home, while the Heroes now stand at 10-9.

For the Giants, who won the sets 35-23, 25-19, 34-29, 29-19, Luismal Ferreiras scored 25 points with seven rebounds; Francis Fitzgerald, 20 points; Romario Roque added 17; Charles Brown Jr finished with 15 points, and Frankyn Batista achieved 10.

For the Heroes, Kevin Obanor scored 18 points, followed by Eloy Vargas with 13 points and six rebounds; Nargenis Ulloa contributed 12 units, and Robert Glenn achieved 12 points with eight rebounds.

First half

With a high field goal percentage of 66 percent, the Giants went into halftime with a wide 18-point lead (60-42). The team from San Francisco de Macorís made 21 of 32 field goal attempts, and also had 44 percent from the 3-point area (7 of 16).

Other facets of the game that the Giants dominated in the first half were rebounds 18-17, as well as 9-8 in assists, and they committed eight turnovers, against five by the visitors, who shot 40 percent from the field (17-45), and made one shot out of eight attempts from the three-point range.

Sunday’s schedule

The Moca Heroes will host the Santiago Metros at the Moca 85 sports center at 5:00 PM.
