SAN CRISTÓBAL.- With the contribution of four debutants, including Luis David Montero, the Titanes del Sur achieved a 91-77 victory against the Héroes de Moca, in a game held at the local sports center corresponding to the elimination phase of the LNB Super League.
Ricardo Ledo, in his first game with the Titanes (9-12), scored 17 points and had 2 steals. Montero contributed 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal, while Diego Colón, also wearing the sky blue uniform for the first time, added 14 points.
Richard Bautista’s contribution was not left behind. “Manito” added 11 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals, while Xavier Reyes finished with 13 units and the new reinforcement Austin Trice grabbed 9 rebounds and scored 4 points for a Titanes team that broke a four-game losing streak.
For the Heroes (10-11), Luis Reynoso finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds, Kam’ron Blue recorded 11 units, Yerri Flores 10, and Jayson Valdez 9, in addition to 4 assists.
The Titans shot 49 percent from the field, including 12-of-33 (36%) from three-point range. They forced 13 turnovers from the Heroes, who could not play fluidly and managed only 9 assists. The Moca team also missed 11 of 18 free throws (39%).
The Titans dominated the first quarter 23-19, with Ledo as their top scorer with 8 points, followed by 4 from Iván Aska. Valdez stepped up for the Heroes with 7 units and Obanor contributed 5.
Scoring was slow in the first part of the second quarter, but the Titans found a good rhythm that put them ahead 35-28, following an Aska jumper with 4:56 remaining. From 1:49 on, the Titans showcased their defense and did not give up a single point, finishing the first half up 44-37.
Ledo scored 10 points, Bautista 9 with 5 assists, and Aska 6 points for the Titanes in the first 20 minutes of action. Blue led the Héroes with 9 units and Valdez contributed 7.

In the third quarter, the Titans had an offensive explosion. When Reyes hit a three-pointer, with 3:56 on the clock, the Southerners took a 64-43 lead. At that moment, they were winning the quarter 20-6. After three periods, the scoreboard read 72-52 in favor of the home team.
The highlights continued for the Titans in the fourth quarter. Spectacular dunks by Tryce kept the San Cristobal team in the lead. The closest the Heroes got was when they pulled within 12 (87-75).
The partials concluded 23-19, 21-18, 28-15 and 19-25 for the Titans.
