Brazilian bodybuilder Alex de Souza Luz, known as “Lekão,” became a bodybuilding champion at 29 after years of intense training and determination.
Diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a child, Lekão faced challenges with movement and coordination but refused to let his condition define his limits. He began weight training about a decade ago to gain greater independence.
Over the years, strength training helped improve his balance, reduce involuntary tremors and make everyday activities such as walking, climbing stairs, eating and brushing his teeth easier.
What began as a journey toward greater mobility eventually took him to the competitive bodybuilding stage, where his victory became a powerful message of perseverance and inclusion.
