SANTO DOMINGO. – Colombian Collin Castro won first place this Saturday in the women’s 1000-meter sprint competition, held at the Paseo 30 de Mayo skating rink, an event carried out within the framework of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

Castro completed the course in a time of 1:29.101, to take the gold medal in that specialty, while the Venezuelan Angy Quintero finished in second place, with a time of 1:29.384.
The bronze medal went to Gabriela Rueda, from Colombia, after recording a time of 1:29.562 and completing the five regulation laps of this speed skating category.
