Colombia will host the 2027 South American U-20 Championship
Colombia will host the 2027 edition of the South American U-20 Championship from January 22 to February 7, the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) reported this Monday.
“The 2027 CONMEBOL #U20 has confirmed dates and venue“, announced CONMEBOL, based in the Paraguayan city of Luque.
The cities that will host this tournament were not immediately specified.
The South American Championship grants four direct spots and one playoff spot for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held between September 17 and October 9 in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
In the last edition of this competition, which took place in Venezuela from January 23 to February 16, 2025, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Paraguay secured their tickets to the World Cup of the category that Chile hosted between September and October of that same year.
Morocco was crowned world champion in 2025, while Argentina and Colombia finished in second and third place, respectively.
In 2023, Colombia hosted the South American U-20 Championship, marking its fifth time as the host of that tournament.
