SANTO DOMINGO, D.N.- The Dominican Republic was confirmed as the host of the XXV U12 Pan American Baseball Championship, an event organized by the Pan American Baseball Confederation (WBSC Americas) together with the Dominican Baseball Federation Inc. (Fedom), which will be held from November 20 to 27 of this year.

The information was released by Fedom, an entity that continues to consolidate the country as one of the main stages for international baseball, after the Dominican Republic was also announced weeks ago as the host of the WBSC Americas U18 Pan American Championship.

The tournament will be hosted at the IPL Academy facilities, located in El Toro, Guerra municipality, Santo Domingo province, a venue that successfully hosted the U-15 Pan American Championship in 2025.

The national teams of Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Curaçao, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, the United States, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic will participate in the competition, making a total of 12 countries that will fight for the four qualifying spots for the 2027 U12 World Cup.

The president of the Dominican Baseball Federation, Juan Núñez Nepomuceno, thanked WBSC Americas for the trust placed in the country for the organization of the continental tournament.

“Thanks to God and the Pan American Baseball Confederation for giving us the opportunity to host this important tournament in the Dominican Republic, a category that means a lot for our sports development,” expressed Núñez.

Likewise, he highlighted that the event’s setup will serve to continue demonstrating the country’s organizational capacity in high-level international competitions.

“We welcome the selection of our country as the host of this great event, where we will demonstrate once again that the Dominican Republic is prepared to organize any world-class competition. We also thank the president of WBSC Americas, Aracelys León, and her entire executive committee for the support provided to Fedom and national baseball,” he added.

The announcement finds Fedom in the final preparations for the Seventh U12 National Championship “Robinson Canó Cup” 2026, scheduled from June 10 to 14 at the IPL Academy, a tournament that will serve as a platform to select the talent that will make up the national team that will represent the country in the Pan American Games.

The U12 category is considered one of the most attractive within the international calendar of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), due to the competitive level and the impact on the development of future generations of world baseball.

The last edition of the tournament was held in Panama, where the United States won the championship after defeating the Dominican Republic in the final match.

As part of the agreement signed between the Panorama Media Group and the Dominican Baseball Federation Inc. (Fedom), all games of the 2026 U12 Pan American Championship will be broadcast live nationwide on VTV Channel 32, with the participation of a team specialized in baseball broadcasts.
