INEFI and SNS ensure comprehensive health for athletes of the XI San Francisco School Games 2025

Santo Domingo.- With the purpose of ensuring the health of the participants in the XI National School Sports Games San Francisco 2025, the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) and the National Health Service (SNS) signed this Monday an agreement that guarantees medical coverage during the celebration of the event, scheduled from September 28 to October 12 in the “City of Jaya”, with sub-venues in La Vega, Salcedo and Nagua. The agreement was signed at the SNS headquarters, where both institutions made commitments aimed at offering timely medical care to the personnel accredited at the sporting event.

“With this agreement, we designate the SNS as the official provider of hospital medical services, through a network of public hospitals in all provinces and cities where the sports activities of the San Francisco 2025 School Games will take place,” explained the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella.

“For us, the most important thing is to preserve the health of all the athletes who will participate in these Games, that’s why we are signing this agreement,” he argued. Meanwhile, the director of the SNS, doctor Mario Lama, announced that the San Vicente de Paúl Regional University Hospital, in San Francisco de Macorís, will be the reference hospital for the care of athletes and accredited personnel during the event.

He also reported that the Doctor Luis Manuel Morillo King Regional University Hospital in La Vega, and the Doctor Pascasio Toribio Piantini Provincial Hospital in Salcedo, will be integrated into the assistance network, which will be prepared to respond to cases of care and sports traumatology. In each center, a medical coordinator will be designated and rooms will be reserved according to the required specialties. In addition, two mobile dental care units and a team of specialized doctors will be incorporated to work in the polyclinic of the headquarters and sub-headquarters, according to the needs of the medical services of the event.
