Garibaldy Bautista highlights the organization of the Central American Games and the performance of Dominican athletes

Santo Domingo.- The president of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), Garibaldy Bautista, positively assessed the development of the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, highlighting the progress in terms of organization, logistics, and the performance of the Dominican delegation.
During a guided tour of the Olympic Village for press representatives, Bautista stated that he felt “very satisfied and very happy” with the development of the regional sporting event.
The Olympic leader explained that, both in terms of assembly and logistics, the different aspects related to the celebration of the Games have been addressed appropriately.

“Any concern or abnormality, but which are normal for those who hold these types of events, has been corrected in time,” Bautista pointed out when referring to specific situations that have arisen during the event.
Regarding the participation of the Dominican athletes, the president of the COD highlighted the effort shown by the national delegation and assured that the athletes have proven to be prepared and competitive.
“They were prepared, competitive, and putting on a good performance to the satisfaction of our country in the competition,” he expressed.
Bautista stated that so far there is satisfaction with the development of the Games and expressed his expectation that the organization and the performance of the Dominican delegation will continue on that path to reach and exceed the established goals.
Likewise, when asked about the support of the Dominican people for the different competitions, he described the response of the fans who have come to the sports facilities to support the athletes as “excellent.”
The president of the COD thus reiterated his positive assessment of the regional event, which brings together delegations from different countries of Central America and the Caribbean in the Dominican Republic.
