RD defeats Mexico in ITF-Cotecc U12 Team Final Competition 2025

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic’s female team won their series 2-0 against Mexico this Monday, at the start of the ITF-Cotecc U12 Team Finals 2025, which is being played from the 22nd to the 25th of this month, at the National Tennis Center of Parque del Este. The event is completely free for fans. Dominican Kyara Khayyat defeated Mexican Sonia Tanus, by 6-3 and 7-6(7). Ana Paula Vega defeated Nicole Castillo, by 5-7, 7-5 and 6-1. While in the men’s branch, Costa Rica defeated the Dominican Republic by 3-0, winning the series against the locals. Alejandro González over Elías Santana, by 6-3 and 6-1. Samuel Romero defeated Eliezer Santos 6-1 and 6-3. In doubles, Alejandro González and Samuel Romero defeated the criollos Eliezer Santos and Michael Almeida, by 6-4 and 6-1.
This Tuesday the matches start at 10 in the morning. The Dominican girls play against Trinidad and Tobago, while in the men’s category, the Dominicans face Mexico.

The winners of this event qualify for the grand final to be held in America, against teams from the Cosat area (South American Tennis Confederation) and those from Canada and the United States. The events organized by Fedotenis are thanks to the Ministry of Tourism, Banco de Reservas, Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Banco Central, Ekatex, Creso, El Nuevo Diario and Wilson.
