Pedernales.– With the goal of strengthening local development and promoting good business practices, the Fundación Reservas del País gave the conference “Opportunities, Governance and Good Practices” to more than 100 micro-entrepreneurs in the province of Pedernales.
The initiative is part of the efforts being developed by the entity to boost the growth of the microfinance sector and strengthen the productive fabric of the communities in the southern region of the country.
The activity was led by the executive vice president of the Fundación Reservas del País, Yamily López, who highlighted the institution’s commitment to social welfare and community development through comprehensive support for cooperatives and micro-entrepreneurs.
“Development is built from the communities. For this reason, we listen actively, reach out, and act where it is needed most, accompanying our cooperatives so that they continue to transform the lives of their members and the development of their communities,” expressed López.

During the day, participants received training on responsible decision-making, institutional transparency, and the strengthening of organizational structures, aspects considered fundamental to ensure the sustainability and growth of cooperatives and small businesses.

The meeting brought together partners and micro-entrepreneurs linked to the COOTRALCOA Savings and Credit Cooperative, becoming a space for learning, exchange of experiences, and collective construction for the economic strengthening of the province.
The attendees valued the initiative positively and expressed their gratitude for the support of the Fundación Reservas del País, highlighting the importance of such programs reaching communities far from the country’s main economic centers.
The entity explained that this session is part of a permanent training and institutional strengthening program that it carries out in different regions of the Dominican Republic, with the purpose of promoting the technical advancement of the microfinance sector and fostering the sustainable development of the communities.
