With the delivery of RD$160 million in loans to micro-entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs in Ensanche Capotillo, National District, the Dominican government has now surpassed RD$927 million delivered so far this year, as part of its commitment and permanent support to this important sector of the national economy.
In this Thursday’s delivery, led by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Yayo Sanz Lovatón, and the General Director of Promipyme, Fabricio Gómez Mazara, another 422 micro-entrepreneurs from the National District benefited, so that they may continue innovating, generating jobs, and economic movement.
The Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Yayo Sanz Lovatón, highlighted that with each delivery of loans that the Government makes through Promipyme, the barriers to credit access that persist for some Dominican entrepreneurs are broken.
“With this delivery, we reaffirm our confidence in those who create jobs, produce wealth, and move the Dominican economy forward every day,” added Sanz Lovatón.
Meanwhile, Fabricio Mazara highlighted that 54% of the loans granted during this session were destined for women, as a clear sign of women’s leadership as drivers of growth through their financial inclusion.

He also indicated that with these deliveries they are also complying with the public policy of incorporating a greater number of women into the productive fabric, as a guarantee of the sustainability of Dominican economic growth and the improvement of the quality of life of the descendants of micro-entrepreneurs and female entrepreneurs.
“We are proud to say that since our arrival at the institution, we have disbursed a total of RD$ 19.8 billion pesos, of which 51% has been disbursed to businesses led by women,” added the director of Promipyme.
The event was attended by the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, as well as officials from the MICM, Promipyme, community leaders, and religious leaders from the sector.
