ITLA Rector participates as a panelist at MoodleMooT Colombia 2026

Colombia.- As part of ITLA’s internationalization strategy and the strengthening of ties with institutions and stakeholders in the region’s educational and technological ecosystem, the rector of the Instituto Tecnológico de Las Américas (ITLA), engineer Jimmy Rosario Bernard, participated as a panelist at MoodleMoot Colombia 2026, an event held within the framework of Colombia TechWeek.

Rosario Bernard was part of the panel “Perspectives for the Future of Education: Trends, Models, and Vision 2030,” a space where she shared her vision on the challenges and opportunities posed by the digital transformation of education.

This call brought together different perspectives on the evolution of digital education, new learning models, and the role of technology in developing the skills demanded by the labor market.

During his speech, the ITLA rector addressed the main challenges facing higher education institutions in adapting their virtual learning environments to the rapid pace of technological transformations, as well as the importance of developing educational models capable of responding with greater agility to the new needs of students, teachers, and productive sectors.

Likewise, he shared recommendations aimed at institutions seeking to accelerate their virtual education models and presented his vision on the evolution that digital education must undergo over the coming years, based on a combination of technological innovation, academic flexibility, student support, and the relevance of the training.

Engineer Jimmy Rosario Bernard is a Computer Engineer, with doctoral studies in Computer Engineering and more than 25 years of experience in digital transformation processes in the governmental, academic, and business sectors, including initiatives related to virtual education, cybersecurity, and technological innovation.

He currently serves as rector of ITLA and is a professor at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).

His participation in MoodleMoot Colombia 2026 is part of the international agenda he is developing during his visit to Bogotá, where he has strengthened cooperation ties in favor of the ITLA student body.///
