Typhoon Noul made landfall in China’s Guangdong Province on Sunday, bringing torrential rain and powerful winds that prompted authorities to issue an orange alert and evacuate more than 801,000 people before the storm arrived.
Emergency officials said the large-scale evacuations were carried out as a precaution amid concerns over flooding, landslides, and widespread damage. The typhoon disrupted transportation and affected several communities across the province as heavy rainfall and strong gusts battered the region.
In neighboring Hong Kong, at least 21 people were injured during the storm, according to local authorities. Emergency services responded to incidents caused by the severe weather, while officials continued to monitor conditions as the system moved inland.
Authorities remain on high alert as rescue and recovery efforts continue, with residents urged to follow official warnings and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas.
