Lima.- A 5.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded this Thursday in the Ucayali region, in the central Amazon of Peru, with an epicenter at a depth of 116 kilometers, and which was felt very slightly in the city of Lima, about 750 kilometers to the west, according to the National Seismological Center.
The earthquake was reported at 19:58 local time (00:58 GMT on Friday) and the reference point was 42 kilometers northeast of the city of Pucallpa, in the province of Coronel Portillo.
Likewise, the National Seismological Center added that the earthquake had an intensity of IV in Pucallpa, the capital of Ucayali and one of the largest and most important cities in the Peruvian Amazon.
So far, there are no reports of casualties or injuries from the earthquake, nor of material damage in the affected area.

It was the third earthquake to occur in the country that day, as an hour earlier there was another one in the southern Andean region of Puno with a magnitude of 4 and, in the morning hours, another earthquake of magnitude 4 was reported in the Amazonas region, in the north of the territory.
