United States.- The 23-year-old Dominican singer Wandy Santana was crowned the winner of “Operación Triunfo United States”, becoming the first winner of this version of the popular musical competition.
Santana’s victory took place during the show’s grand finale, where he managed to prevail over the other finalists with his performance of “Tu amor me hace bien” and received a US$100,000 prize, in addition to the recognition as the winner of the first American edition of the format.
Wandy from “The Voice Dominicana” to Operación Triunfo
The triumph represents a new chapter in the career of Wandy Santana, who had already participated in “The Voice Dominicana” in 2021.

Five years after that experience, the young man had a new opportunity to demonstrate his talent by participating in “Operación Triunfo United States”. During the first gala of the program, he secured one of the spots to enter the Academy after winning over the jury with a salsa version of “La quiero a morir”, a song originally composed by Francis Cabrel.
