Abinader allocates RD$2,000 million for the construction of 25 sports complexes nationwide

The resources to be executed are from the funds recovered from the corruption cases submitted

La Vega.- President Luis Abinader announced this Sunday the investment of two billion pesos from the funds recovered from the corruption cases submitted and convicted, in sports infrastructure works in this province and in 27 municipalities of the country. Abinader said there will be more investments from those funds in sports, health, and culture, and specified that this is a first part of 3 million so that young people appreciate good behavior and state money.

“25 new roofs will be built in municipalities that do not yet have this type of sports facilities and we will take the impetus of sports development to key demarcations,” assured the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz.

The official also detailed that among the works to be carried out in La Vega is the construction of the new La Vega Arena with a capacity for more than four thousand 500 fans, which will be a symbol of modernity, culture and high performance for the use of the entire community.

The investment includes the remodeling of this province’s baseball stadium, where various local and national glories of the country’s king sport have paraded, and the reconstruction of the Fernando Teruel Sports Center (which will become the new Volleyball Palace). In addition, several renovation and reconstruction works will be carried out on tracks and courts that host different sports disciplines.
