“The truth is that President Luis Abinader, when they talk to him about sports and youth, throws the door out the window, because in the capital, to give you just one statistic, in the capital they are investing about RD 300 million in the construction of sports complexes, and in Puerto Plata the same amount is invested for the benefit of the residents in the Bride of the Atlantic,” Cruz emphasized.

In thanking for the works, the president of the Gregorio Luperón Club, Edgar Mirabel, stated that both men and women in the province value and appreciate the initiative for the benefit of the community. “We receive these facilities with great joy because we understand that, with the help of Mr. Luis Abinader, sport is transformed and advances,” he highlighted.
The welcome remarks were given by the governor, Claritza Rochtte, who expressed her excitement at receiving the new facilities and highlighted that, thanks to President Abinader’s vision, today we can enjoy fully equipped and renovated sports complexes. Both works consist of a metal structure roof, stands with seats, offices with bathrooms, locker rooms with bathrooms for athletes, placement of maple wood flooring with FIBA certification in the playing area, two FIBA scoreboards, digital scoreboard, clock and general electrical installation. The buildings are works number 37 and 38 delivered during Cruz’s management at the head of the Sports and Recreation portfolio, thus realizing old dreams of both superior basketball entities and other sports disciplines of the Bride of the Atlantic.
