After 20 years of waiting, CNTU obtains licenses to operate in the Kennedy corridor

Santo Domingo.– The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT) set a precedent this Tuesday by delivering operating licenses to the National Confederation of the United Force (CNTU), in what was described as a historic day for the transportation sector of the Dominican Republic. The act was led by the executive director of INTRANT, engineer Milton Morrison, who emphasized that this step constitutes the beginning of a process of dignifying and formalizing the work of thousands of drivers.

“Granting these licenses is an act of justice for men and women who earn their living on the streets every day. We have verified that there are more good people than the few who do the wrong thing, and from INTRANT we have decided to support this sector within the framework of the law,” he affirmed.

From his side, CNTU leader William Figuereo expressed that this delivery symbolizes the culmination of years of sacrifices, struggles, and demonstrations.

“Today we celebrate a long-awaited achievement that marks a before and after for our sector, as we open the doors to the formal transportation corridors,” he assured.

With this integration, CNTU drivers will be part of the Kennedy Avenue corridor, joining those already operating on Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, and Núñez de Cáceres.
