Alleged criminal dies during Dicrim operation in Los Alcarrizos

Los Alcarrizos.– A man identified by the authorities as an alleged criminal died on Thursday afternoon during an operation carried out by agents of the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim) in the Las Mercedes sector of this municipality.

According to preliminary information, the individual was reportedly wounded by gunfire during a police intervention. He was subsequently transported by officers to the Dr. Vinicio Calventi Hospital, where doctors certified that he arrived without vital signs.

As of the closing of this edition, the authorities had not offered details regarding the identity of the deceased nor the specific circumstances that led to the incident.

Data obtained at the health center indicate that the man had multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body. In addition, he had tattoos on both hands and the name “Iliana” engraved on his chest. He was wearing white pants and his height was approximately five feet and six inches.

The body was admitted to the hospital around 5:30 in the afternoon. After making the corresponding delivery to the medical staff, the agents who participated in the operation left the scene.

So far, the National Police has not issued an official report on the case nor has it reported whether any firearm or other evidence related to the incident was seized during the intervention.

It is expected that in the coming hours the authorities will provide further details on the investigation to clarify the circumstances under which the event occurred.
