Santo Domingo. – The candidate for rector of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Radhamés Silverio, received the official endorsement of Dr. Ángel Pimentel, aspirant to the Deanship of the Faculty of Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences (FCAV).
The support strengthens Silverio’s candidacy within one of the faculties with the greatest academic impact at the state university. Pimentel, former director of the School of Agronomic Engineering, expressed his support for the rectoral project led by Silverio and highlighted the importance of promoting a management oriented toward the institutional and academic strengthening of the UASD.
During his speech, Radhamés Silverio emphasized the shared commitment to continue strengthening this important division of the academy.
“We seek to continue strengthening the Faculty of Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences. Ángel Pimentel has presented a proposal today that includes the components of teaching, research, extension, administration, and institutional development,” he expressed.
For his part, Dr. Ángel Pimentel highlighted the historical role and social impact of the faculty, while reaffirming his project’s commitment to the country’s development.

“We, as a university, have supplied more than 85% of the professionals in the sector. Today, you go anywhere in the country and you find a technician trained at the university. We have a clear vision of improving the institutional management to achieve a real impact in what we do,” he stated.
With this alliance, both candidates agreed on the need to continue promoting the modernization of the academy through the strengthening of research, innovation, engagement with productive sectors, and the development of university campuses, centers, and sub-centers.
